Solutions
At Petersen Carpentry, we specialize in small, custom projects in historic homes–ones that make the most of odd spaces, add more storage and functionality, and blend the old with the new. From decks and kitchen cabinets, to built-in shelving and cat furniture, we pride ourselves on creating functional and beautiful pieces.

Hello!
I'm Tim Petersen, a carpenter, woodworker, and designer living and working in West Philly for 30+ years. Everything I make is custom-built to you and your space, and I have extensive experience with older, turn-of-the-century homes across Philadelphia and the Main Line.
I've been working independently since 2003 for individual clients, architects, designers, and museums. Prior, I was a carpenter and project lead for fancy-pants, upper-crust design companies and architects.
My work speaks for itself through repeat clients and long-term partnerships with architects, designers, and institutions like Mershon Design, FisherGrey, Woodmere Museum, and Final Touch.
Transforming spaces with bespoke woodworking services
Working in old homes takes a lot of patience and problem-solving to deal with uneven floors, walls out of plumb, and wasted space. Tim applies his expertise across all projects, sizes, and budgets. He also designs to other people's specifications.
